Here's to New Beginning

I have been debating about whether or not to start feeding my sweet 8 month old baby girl foods. I think the thought of doing it has made me a little sad because . . .

1. I do not want anything to separate the bond we have made during breastfeeding

2. It means my baby girl is growing up and getting older. I like to live in denial sometimes. I mean she is only 8 months old but that seems so old to me!

I can see it now . . . I am going to be the super sad parent when my little baby goes to preschool, kindergarten, I can't even fathom college!

For college maybe I will just follow her wherever she goes; that is what my parents did for me and I loved it!

She did start eating cereal at 6 months old because I had to do 7 weeks of student teaching, but then we stopped feeding her it for a little bit because she didn't seem like she needed it quite yet. Looking back maybe I wasn't ready. It is hard!

I think my mom knew I needed some help getting started so she surprised me with a starter kit of food carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and any other baby food you can think of. Also there were spoons and bowls and some more cereal!
*I am seriously blessed with the best mama!

Well, all of that to say, I did feed Amelia some green beans tonight, and she absolutely loves it, like diving toward the spoon shoving it in her face kind of love! It was so adorable!

Also, she was so happy afterwards! I think it really filled up her belly!

I am excited, and ready to start this journey because I know it will make Amelia healthy am happy!

I started with cereal and have moved to green beans. I will stay on green beans for awhile just to make sure she doesn't have any allergies to them. And I will repeat that process with peas, then squash, then carrots, then sweet potatoes, and then move on to fruits.

Also, I am going to try to make her baby food. So, you can expect that I will be doing a blog post on that sometime in the near future.

On another note, my sister, Audrey, came to town for the weekend! I am so excited to catch up with her am see if I can convince her to do my nails. She is the bomb at doing super cute and super chic nails! We are going to a wedding tomorrow!

I still need to pick out what I am going to wear tomorrow to the wedding. Right now just ball parking I am thinking a girlie dress with my Arturo Chaing boots, a nice jacket, and loose romantic curls!

On one more note I just purchased a Julep box! It is my first time. If you go to Julep.com and enter the promo code FREEBOX you will get a free box, surprise! All you have to pay for is shipping. My shipping was 3.99$ What I like about this box is that it tells you what you are going to get and if you don't like it then you can ask for another option. Also, they tell you what style you are. My style was Bombshell, I will take it!

One last thing: tonight was Amelia's first time in a high chair! She absolutely loved it!
