Date Night on the 'Town'

My hubby and I finally got to go out on a nice date! We live twenty miles from a Wal-Mart (with basically nothing in between here and there: which makes for the longest twenty minute drive of your life). What I am trying to get to it that you have to be creative in a little town to have a nice date.

Some of the things we have done in the past are . . .
-Eat dinner at the local colleges burger joint (in my opinion the make the best cheeseburgers in the world other than In-N-Out)

-Go star watching (remember-small town with very few street lights makes for great star seeing) (Actually, sometimes we have really great meteor showers) This is a great date to, borrow a truck, grab a sleeping bag or two, bring some warm hot chocolate, and prepare to cuddle.

-We actually live about twenty minutes away from the most scenic view in Kansas so that will be one of our next dates: to just take a long drive out in the county and enjoy God's creation.

-One of our most frequent dates consists of driving to Greensburg (a town ten miles away) to just go to the Kwik Shop to grab a pop and snack.

-Of course there are the dates where we stay at home make dinner, and watch a movie together.

Needless to say we have to be creative to have a nice date around town.

I forgot to mention the nearest mall, theater, nice restaurant, anything 'nice date worthy' is about an hour to an hour and a half away. That is really inconvenient when you have a 10 1/2 month old baby girl whom you do not want to leave for over 5 hours to go on a date with your hubby. One day we can do that, but for now we just have to have fun in being creative.

This certain date we found out that the hotel ten miles away (in Greensburg) will let you pay a couple dollars and use their pool and hot tub. So we got dressed up (I even curled my hair!), went to the pool and the hot tub, and then went to dinner at the local Mexican restaurant (which is actually really good: it is usually where we go for everybody's birthday), we actually ordered dessert which we never do unless it is someone's birthday.

Here is a little picture walk of our fun night 'on the town'

Right before we walked out of the hotel it started snowing, it was beautiful!

What are some fun date nights that you have gone on: in a big or small town!?
