DIY Convenient Cup Holder

I am always trying to think of ways to decorate my house where things look cute, but they are still convenient and functional. This diy is just that! I made this three palette board from a palette that I took apart this summer. I just painted the boards white and connected them in the back. You could make this project with one big board or even with just one long piece of wood. Just do the same following steps.

As well as the board you will need some nails (I used size 16x1) , a hammer, and your favorite coffee cups!

Decide where you want your nails to go. I did 5 and I staggered them with two on the top and three on the bottom. Just don't do so many that the cups won't fit. Once you have the nail placements where you want them go ahead and nail them in. Nail them at an angle. You want them to be able to hold your cup without them falling.

Once you have all of your nails hammered in go ahead and hang your board up.

Then put your cups on it! I love my new white cups. You guys! These cups were only $0.88 a piece. I can't believe it because I love how crisp and white they are. They make my kitchen feel so open and clean.

This diy Cup Holder is the perfect addition to our little coffee bar. I am thinking about writing coffee on the top board, but I haven't decided if I want to or not. What do you guys think?

Also, if you don't feel like making this yourself then you can order a custom cup holder from my Etsy shop, Adelerella!

Vanilla Yogurt Parfait

Getting our home now means that I get my kitchen back! I'll be honest, cooking is not what I would choose to do for fun. I would much rather be playing with Amelia or doing some diy project. However, since we live in such a small town if I don't cook we don't eat. Plus, the hubs love language is food. So, with that being said I definitely have to cook. To make it a little more fun for me I have been checking out Pinterest like crazy to find great recipes. Another thing I do to make it even more fun I take step by step pictures of the process of whatever I am cooking so that I can write my own blog on it. What do you guys do to make cooking more fun?

Well before I share this breakfast I whipped up let me tell you this quick sweet story about Amelia.
Today we were headed off to Amelia and I's first mommy/daughter dance class. However, on the drive over to Perryton (a town 12ish minutes away) Amelia decided it was nap time. I wanted to let her sleep as long as possible so I just relaxed in the car while she slept. Sometimes as a mama I have to get a break whenever, wherever I can! Ya feel me! : ) After she slept and I relaxed we ended up just going grocery shopping and having a fun mommy/daughter date instead.

Anyways, this dance class we planned to go to is in the morning so we needed something for breakfast that was quick, filling, and tasted good! So we went for yogurt, granola, and fruit. I love vanilla yogurt, especially vanilla Greek yogurt! It is so creamy and you can do so much stuff with it. Like make cookies, or add toppings to it, or even just eat it plain. I have been having so much fun figuring out where everything is at in our local grocery store, it is just fun seeing the new products they have that I have never seen before. Well, I found this amazing granola cereal that was on sale for 2 for $5 so I figured we should go ahead and try it. I am so glad I did, because it is really good! I combined the two delicious ingredients and added the granola to the vanilla yogurt, I also added some strawberries and blueberries! Yum! It is such a yummy-healthy snack and it really curves my sweet tooth. What are your favorite yogurt concoctions? Here are the snap shots from our fun day!

I posted this one on my Instagram account, and thank you guys so much for the love on it!

Am I the only one that loves to check out other peoples grocery baskets?

We really like this Special K Granola with a touch of honey.
Our favorite Greek yogurt is Oikos.

Sometimes I will just make it in the Oikos container
so I don't have to do any dishes and it is really convenient.
But, some times I like to put it in a bowl.

Look at that sleeping beauty!

After awhile she conked out on her bed.

Booker Home Inspiration

Moving to a new place, and a new culture, and a new home is nerve wracking, and exciting all in one breathe! I have been trying to figure out what decorating style I love.

I heard something like this . . .
Don't just follow the trends because they change all of the time. Figure out what you like whether it is "in style" or not.

I really liked that statement because I can drive myself ragged just trying to keep up with the it trend.

I LOVE burlap! I always have! It actually seems to be one of the popular options lately but I really like it. Correction I love it!

I also LOVE neutrals! I love mixing neutrals like tan, white, and grey, and natural materials (like wood), and even black.

I LOVE soft cozy materials. Materials that just make you want to snuggle up and relax.

I really want a good study place for Shane. A nice recliner where he can just sit for hours and read and pray.

I am really trying to take hold of the fact that I am the woman of the house and I have certain ideas I want to see happen. I want a home that's environment is full of love, joy, family, faith, and relaxation. Those are the most important things in my life and I want my home to reflect them.

So that's why I am figuring out what items "bring me joy" when I look at them.

Or that "bring me love"

Or that "bring me family"

Or that "bring me faith"

Or that "bring me relaxation"

So in order to do this it involves a lot of planning. I literally am planning out what I want each room to look like. That way I can try to find items that fit my critiria.

And in order to plan I have to be inspired by my criteria, and also inspired by things that I like, that I mentioned above.

Here are some things that I have actually purchased.

My next blog I am going to make all about photos that have inspired me.

I really wanted to mix my neutrals so I needed something to combine grey and tan. I saw these pillow in TJMaxx and loved the pattern on them and could just see them on my master room bed. They pillows being the same size and pattern will allow me to have grey and tan in the room. And how soft is this top pillow! I really wanted to soften our master bedroom and make it a place where we can really rest.

This is an oversized pillow. I can't wait to throw it on my bed!

This is another pillow that I will use to combine grey and tan! And it adds another pattern that attracts the eye. I think I want to put this pillow on an accent chair with a white throw. I am still looking for the perfect white throw.

Shane and I are in dire need of some new and stylish kitchen towels. We are just really hard on towels. Plus, I can just imagine these being used on my Instagram photos because I love the fringe! I actually bought another type of towel that looks very similar to these but they stripe is a little bit different. I bought these towels 2 for $3. I bought several of these. I love a good deal, and I love TJMaxx for making great deals available. Did you know you can shop online at TJMaxx! I love it! I just got these towels in the mail today!

This is the best Zulily furniture shop that I have ever seen. It had the perfect accent chairs, and a couple adorable benches.

I really like the bottom towels and benches but I didn't click checkout on them. However, the top two chairs I did purchase as well as the bench. I couldn't get over how cute they were and how perfect they were for the rooms I am trying to create.

I really wanted to purchase the faux foot stool, and the bottom grey bench but I didn't. I am going to look for a vintage bench that I can repurpose really shabby chic. And I think I might get one of the gold Moroccan foot stool for Amelia's room.

I love the colors and the fabrics of these pieces I think they are so relaxing.

I have purchased a couple other things, but I don't have pictures of the yet so I will just keep those to surprise you guys with when we actually move into a house. But I was to excited to contain what I have been getting for our new house.

House update: We are still living with the generous people from our church, who have become great friends. We are planning on moving next Tuesday into a rental for a couple months before we look at buying this house that is going on foreclosure. We appreciate your guys prayers!

Which pillow do you think I should put on this pillow in our master bedroom, if any?

Okay folks, if you haven't tried this! Why not!? It is the best-healthy snack I have ever had! Shane and I are doing another whole foods plant based diet. We just want to trim down a little bit and start making some healthy habits. Basically our meals have consisted of fruits and vegetables. Surprisingly, we have been shocked at how appetizing the recipes have been. If you guys have seen any of my Instagram pictures and want to know the recipe please feel free to ask and I will make a blog for it!

The first couple days we were on this intense (pretty much vegan and dairy free) "life style change" I was so crabby! Wow does sugar have a hold on me. I haven't been eating any sugar. The only sugar I have been eating is like sugar from honey and sugar that's in like crackers. So no chocolate, no leftover Easter candy, no nada! The detox is still going pretty strong, but I am already starting to feel better.

This might sound super cheesy but I am going to say it anyways because it has really helped me. Every time I feel myself wanting to eat sugar, that I know is not good for me I am going to try to read scripture or turn my eyes and my thoughts on Jesus because I can not face this "battle" on my own. I need help coming from somewhere other then my flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:4 the New International Version says,
"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."

If you have any yummy healthy recipes that I should try please let me know! Until then I will be snacking on my yummy apples and this yummy smoothie. This smoothie is basically a salad in a cup! You should try it, it is so good!

Cellery, carrots, broccoli, and strawberries!

I thought I would throw this picture in this post as my flash back Friday.
I so badly want to go to another Broncos game- so does Daddy and Amelia.
Have I told you guys that her favorite color is orange.
If you point to something and ask her what color it is no matter
what color it actually is she will say, "orange". I love it!

Kohl's Yes2You Rewards Preview Group/An Awesome Opportunity

Here is a video showing you what I got from Kohl's and Freshly Picked!

I am so excited to be apart of the Kohls Yes2You Rewards Preview Group on Facebook.

They published one of my recipes in a really fun cook book they made.
I am thrilled, it is so exciting and so encouraging to think that one day I could
make a cook book or something!

Along with the cook book they also sent me an adorable Christmas platter, measuring cups, two spatulas, and tablespoon and teaspoon measuring utensils.

When I joined the group they hooked me up with $50 Kohl's cash. I used the money when they were having their cyber Monday sales so I was able to get Amelia four tops, and two pants! Much needed shirts and pants since my little munchkin moo is growing like crazy!

The group is so much fun, Olga (before it was Stephanie) works for Kohl's and she runs the facebook group, and she does such an amazing job facilitating a great positive feel to the group, and it has made it a really fun group to be apart of.

I am so excited to be a part of this group because it is the first group I have ever been asked to participate in due to the fact that they really like my blog! I feel so honored to be apart of such a great group with so many other really talented other woman. I have really enjoyed getting to know them!

FedEx dropped this lovely package off at my door! How sweet was it that Kohl's packaged and sent out this great gift to me and all of the other woman in the group. Thank you Kohl's so much!

Sorry for getting this post up so late, I have really been wanting to share it with you!

Homemade Hot Chocolate

Wow is it getting cold out there! I used to live in Scottsdale, AZ where this time of year it was the perfect amount of chili so that you could wear boots and a light cardigan. (Which was a whopping 76 degrees)

Well, now I live in the middle of, no where, in Kansas where winters hit and they hit hard!
Out of the blue yesterday morning I woke up and their was snow on the ground, whah!? Can you imagine my face when I say that?

However,
I love the cold weather and
I love looking at the pure white snow and
I love wearing big (and as my daughter would call it, "cozy") sweaters and
I love that winter brings Christmas and
I love that, that means seeing family and
I love HOT CHOCOLATE

Yeah tea is nice for warming you up,
but it doesn't get better then warm chocolately milk!

I have never made real homemade chocolate milk before
and now that I have I am addicted!

Here is what I used-
4 Cups of whole milk
1 cup of chocolate

I started by pouring 4 cups of milk into a medium sized pan
and let it get warm. You want it to be warm, but
not boiling.

Then I grabbed a cup of these truffles. You can use
whatever kind of chocolate you prefer.
I am going to try white chocolate with peppermint next!
These Belgian Truffles were given to my husband because
the children in the school wanted to bless him with a sweet snack!
They had the students pick a couple teachers they wanted to bless,
I am so proud of him! And let me tell ya, these truffles are GOOD!
They made the hot chocolate.

Stir it and the chocolate will start to melt.
Are you getting as excited as I am!?

You are ready to serve it and drink it up!

Of course Amelia wanted to try some!

And I had to snap chat my mom
who shortly after was brought a cup of this delicious hot chocolate
by my hubby!

I hope you guys are finding the bright side of this weather and the snow!

Love,
Adele
